This camp is for girls across Moldova who are at the highest risk of being trafficked. This was my first year taking part in this conference. As stories were shared my heart begin to break, these where just girls yet they had already experienced so much in life. Many abandoned by their parents, taking care of younger siblings, and one even being sold for as much lei as 5 US dollars. This camp gave them a week to forget these lives and just be girls.
Boys Camp 2017 was an amazing time and life changing experience for many young boys who live in an “At-Risk” environment across Moldova. The boys have a chance to swim in a pool maybe for the first time, travel down a zip line but more importantly through this investment the Gospel is shared with them and allows them to feel real love (God’s Love) shown by us through Him.
Christy and I were given the opportunity to take a week and go to the Children’s camp in Calarasi to teach the children English, we never knew the blessing this opportunity would bring us down the road. Many times here in Moldova it is all about connecting with the children, sometimes this is hard because you are in and out of their life so much and they need and want consistency. Serving in Moldova is an adventure every day and we always like visitors to join us in the adventure especially when it is some of your close friends from the States. Harvest Baptist Church is our sending church and they sent a short-term team to do ministry with us. Together we were able to fellowship with each other, visit some poverty- stricken families with food parcels and time to share the Gospel. Graduating high school and going to the beach is one thing, but giving up the beach and going to serve the Lord on the mission field is something pretty amazing.
